A Watkinsville man has been arrested in connection with the shooting deaths of his mother and stepfather.
The Oconee County Sheriff's Office announced the arrests of Peyton Moyer, 20, in a social media post.
Authorities said deputies responded to the residence on Bouldercrest Circle around 12:20 a.m. Tuesday and found Ashley Schutza and Benjamin Smith dead. They said two juveniles were in the home and were not injured.
Moyer had fled the scene in one of the victim's vehicles, but he was later located by Athens-Clarke County police officers. Moyer was arrested following a short pursuit with officers.
An investigation into the shooting continues.
