A man arrested earlier this year for the sexual molestation of a 9-year-old child has been convicted and sentenced for the crime in Hall County Superior Court.
Charles Gee, 30, was convicted Wednesday by a jury of seven women and five men after the panel spent just 15 minutes deliberating the evidence.
Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh said presiding Judge Jason Deal sentenced Gee to a life sentence with 28 years to serve on a charge of aggravated sexual battery and 20 years with 15 to served on a charge of child molestation. Darragh said the sentences will be served concurrently.
The crimes occurred in August 2020 at a residence on Browns Bridge Road. Gee was arrested in January of this year. At the time of the arrest, authorities said Gee was acquainted with the female victim.
Darragh said ADAs Laura Lukert and Alicia Gassett tried the case on behalf of the state.
