Hall County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Cleveland man Friday on charges of aggravated sexual battery and child molestation following an investigation into an August 2020 incident involving a female child.
According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, 29-year-old Charles Daniel Gee is accused of committing the crimes against the child between August 21 and August 22, 2020, at a home in the 3,000 block of Ga. 369/Browns Bridge Road.
The release states Gee knew the victim prior to the incident.
Deputies first learned of the crime on Dec. 17, 2020, when an adult family member reported it to authorities after the victim told the family member about the incident.
As of Tuesday, Gee remained in the Hall County Jail without bond.
The cause remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division, according to the release.
