DAHLONEGA — Abby Hubert scored a career-high 26 points as the No. 12 University of North Georgia women's basketball team bounced back with a 101-68 win over Young Harris Monday night inside the UNG Convocation Center.
After Young Harris scored the game's first points, North Georgia went on a 17-2 run that spanned 5:28 of the first quarter to take control of the game. The Nighthawks extended their lead to 23 points by halftime and as many as 35 points before the final horn sounded.
NOTES
- Hubert's 26 points came on 11-of-14 shooting. It surpasses her previous career-high of 22 points, scored earlier this season at Augusta back in December.
- North Georgia shot 64.4 percent from the floor, just three-tenths of a percentage point off the NCAA-era record in program history for a single game.
- Five other Nighthawks finished in double figures with Caroline Martin scoring 14 and Julianne Sutton putting up 12. Kara Groover, Abbie Franklin and Josie Earnhardt each added 10.
- Prior to the game, the women's basketball program honored Groover and Franklin for their milestones surpassed last week.
