Wag-alongs: Milo hits the lake on the Pooch Pontoon

By Lauren Hunter Multimedia Journalist

Every dog likes to make a splash at some point, right?? Milo certainly did!

For this edition of Wag-alongs: Tales from the furry side, Jacobs Media General Manager Bill Maine and AccessWDUN reporter Lauren Hunter teamed up with Candace Solyst, owner of the Pooch Pontoon, to take six-year-old, Terrier/Beagle mix Milo out on a Lake Lanier adventure. The group launched from the courtesy dock of the Gainesville Marina, then boated to an island where Milo took the opportunity to run, play and splash in the water. Milo certainly showed his more playful and energetic side, but also demonstrated during his time on the boat that he can relax and follow basic commands like "sit".

As for her part, Solyst regularly takes adoptable rescues from the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia out to the island where they can spend some time away from the shelter and enjoy all that the island has to offer. Solyst funds her adventures by taking members of the community and their pets out for an adventure, as well.

As of this report, Milo is still available for adoption at HSNEGA. His profile, as well as the profiles of other adoptable animals, is on the HSNEGA adoption page.
