The Hall County School District says it will increase stadium capacity for football games beginning on Friday.
Superintendent Will Schofield announced the move on Monday during the monthly Board of Education work session. Week 3 of the high school football season is set to begin on Friday.
“Today we have agreed to raise our capacities because people have been working so hard and doing such a good job at Friday night football games,” Hall County School Superintendent Will Schofield told school board members.
“From thirty-five to forty percent; I think that’s warranted,” Schofield explained as the new attendance limits begin this Friday. “That will amount to somewhere between 120 and 200 more tickets.”
“That is the direct result of our people doing the right things, our fans doing the right things,” Schofield added.
Schofield was asked if he foresaw an opportunity for band members from visiting schools to be allowed into the games.
“I don’t think we’re in a position to make that consideration at this time…band travel has really been problematic for us in terms of getting all those individuals on buses…but we’re not ready to make that recommendation tonight,” he said.
