RABBITTOWN — East Hall High School Athletic Director Adam Rich announced Thursday they have promoted assistant Zeb Lackey to take over the Vikings program.

Lackey was a Vikings' assistant coach in the abbreviated 2020 season. He served as the head coach for Riverside Military Academy in 2019 after being an assistant for the Eagles from 2011-2018.

Lackey is also a physical education teacher and the Assistant Athletic Director at the school. He is is taking over for Eric Fowler, who was forced out of the position last month after alleged sexual battery charges.

“Coach Lackey is dedicated to our baseball program and has already formed a great bond with the players after one season with our students,” East Hall Athletic Director Adam Rich said. “We are excited to see the program continue to strive under Coach Lackey, and we are looking forward to watching him push our baseball team to take the next step as a program.”

The Vikings, who now play in Region 8-4A, last made the playoffs in 2018 while in Region 7-3A.
