OAKWOOD – New Johnson coach William Harrell is pleased with his team’s effort so far this summer.
“The biggest thing is effort isn’t an issue for us,” he said. "That’s been something that has been very refreshing – regardless of where guys have been on the depth chart or terms of their talent level. Our kids give 110 percent every time we’re on the field or in the weight room. That’s been something that has been refreshing to inherit. I’ve got to give credit to coach (Stan) Luttrell and his staff for instilling that in them. We’re just going to try and take it to the next level.”
The Mic’d Up Tour traveled over to Billy Ellis Stadium to find out what Harrell and his coaching have been doing in the summer.
The Knights have been navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic with every precaution prescribed by the Georgia High School Association since June 8.
“I think anytime we can put our program out so the county and community can see what our young people are doing is a bonus,” he said.
