Suspect in attempted kidnapping, aggravated assault in west Hall County jailed

An Oakwood man was arrested Wednesday in connection to a kidnapping and aggravated assault in West Hall County earlier this summer.

Hall County Sheriff's Deputies located Jeffrey Shane Moore's car at a repair shop on Spring Street on August 7, locating a pair of scissor Moore had reportedly used to assault the victim in the July 3 incident.

Sheriff's Office Spokesman Derreck Booth said Moore was arrested without incident Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. and charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping with bodily injury, and false imprisonment. The victim, a 20 year old woman, had been randomly targeted as she walked along the side of Flat Creek Road in the 5200 block.

When Moore allegedly stopped his car and began forcing the victim into the vehicle, Booth said she scream and resisted, ultimately fighting her way out of the car. Moore reportedly assaulted her with a pair of scissors, as well as inflicting other cuts, abrasions and bruising.

A vehicle "be on the lookout" was released with the limited suspect and vehicle information, as well as information from the public, and Oakwood Police and deputies were able to identify Moore as a suspect.

Moore was also being held on a probation violation in addition to the aggravated assault charges and remained in the Hall County Jail as of Thursday afternoon.
