Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Mother's Day near Dahlonega.

Investigators from Georgia State Patrol Post 37 in Cumming were called to the crash site on Ben Higgins Road south of Crabapple Lane around 11:50 a.m. on Sunday, May 10.

Troopers said Danielle Landers, 20, of Dahlonega was traveling southbound on Ben Higgins Road when she tried to negotiate a curve to the right and crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head-on.

The occupants of the vehicle struck by Landers's vehicle were identified as Harry Hames, 73, and Judith Hames, 66, both from Dahlonega.

All three of those involved in the crash suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to hospitals in Dahlonega and Gainesville for treatment. Troopers said all three were wearing seat belts.

Landers was charged with driving on the wrong side of the road, according to troopers; they said alcohol/drug use was not a factor in the crash.

Ben Higgins Road was closed down for just over two hours due to the amount of debris in the roadway and first responders assisting the injured persons.
