Hall County Government facilities that were closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic will begin to reopen May 18th.

A news release from the county said that it will take a “phased-in approach”, meaning some buildings will reopen sooner than others.

While details about the re-openings are pending, some updates include that the Hall County Government Center, Hall County community centers, libraries, park pavilions, playgrounds and park restrooms remain closed. Parks and library events are canceled until further notice.

The Hall County Animal Shelter has extended its closure time, but those interested in adopting can schedule an appointment to meet an animal on the shelter’s webpage.

The Hall County Courthouse will continue to operate on its own judicial schedule, but the Hall County Correctional Institute has slowed some of its inmate work detail.

The Hall County Landfill, Recycling Center and compactor sites remain open.

The release also said that a limited number of employees will report to each of these facilities but maintain social distancing guidelines. The county is also continuing its sanitation efforts to ensure employees are working in as safe conditions as possible.

Residents are encouraged to continue conducting county business online at Hallcounty.org for services such as online motor vehicle services, as well as payment of insurance fines and property taxes.

Residents can also contact individual departments with questions by looking under “Departments” on the county’s webpage.
