BRUNSWICK — Gainesville earned its first win of the season Saturday with a 7-6 win over West Forsyth in the Baseball at the Beach tournament at Glynn Academy High School.
Jahleel Rivas-Dicks provided the game-winner in the sixth inning with a 2-run single. Zach Valentine and Ethan Payne each had two hits. Grady Vardeman, Harris Bell, Will Barrett, and Cody Brewer had one hit apiece for the Red Elephants (1-2).
Victor Vega earned the win with Eudy Medina picking up the save.
Gainesville will return home on Monday to play host to Stephens County. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
