Gwinnett judge to go to trial next week, co-defendants enter plea deal

By AccessWDUN Staff

Another co-defendant in the trial of a Gwinnett County Superior Court judge has made a plea deal with prosecutors, so Kathryn Schrader will face trail by herself next week.

A report in the Gwinnett Daily Post said Ed Kramer, the last of the co-defendants indicted with Schrader on computer trespassing charges, entered an Alford plea on Monday, Feb. 3. An Alford plea permits a defendant to enter a plea without specifically admitting any guilt. Kramer, a co-founder of Dragon Con, was sentenced to 10 years probation on one count of computer trespassing; other charges were dropped.

Two other co-defendants in the case had already reached plea agreements with the court.

Schrader was charged with criminal trespassing after she reportedly hired others to monitor her work computer, believing it was being hacked by Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter. Schrader is accused of giving her co-defendants improper access to Gwinnett County's computer network in the process.

The news paper said Schrader's trial is scheduled to being at 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10.
