Hall County roads begin to reopen following closures due to flooding

By AccessWDUN Staff

UPDATE: Hall County Government spokeswoman Katie Crumley said Monday evening that Persimmon Tree Road and Tribble Gap Road had reopened. A complete list of closures is posted here.

Following heavy rains from Hurricane Delta, several Hall County roads were still closed Monday morning due to washouts and flooding.

According to Hall County Government officials, the following locations will undergo extended closures due to road washouts:

  • B Clark Road
  • Harrington Road
  • Hensley Road at Latty Road
  • Forrester Road near Belton Bridge Road
  • Mud Creek Road near the creek
  • Webb Girth Road
  • Woodlin Road

On top of the road washouts, Belton Bridge Road near Belton Bridge Park is the only roadway that remains closed due to flooding.

About 5.7 inches of rain has fallen in Gainesville since 7 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Most of it — more than 4.5 inches — fell in a four-hour period from 10 p.m. Saturday through 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
