A Gainesville woman was killed Thursday afternoon in a head-on collision on Keith Bridge Road in Forsyth County.

Cpl. Doug Rainwater with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said the fatal crash happened near Leland Drive just after 2:20 p.m.

"The investigation at this point has determined that a 2018 white Jeep Compass, operated by 29-year-old Mitchell Brown of Cumming, Ga, was traveling east on Keith Bridge Road," Rainwater said in a press statement. "The Jeep crossed over the double yellow line striking, head-on, a 2005 black Toyota Scion which was traveling west on Keith Bridge Road."

The driver of the Scion, 42-year-old Candi Tucker, was killed, according to Rainwater.

A passenger in Tucker's vehicle, 26-year-old Chasity Sawyer, was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. Brown was also injured and transported to the hospital, according to Rainwater.

Rainwater said the crash remains under investigation by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Unit and charges are pending in the incident.
