Collins on attack that killed Iranian general: 'Don't mess with America'

By AccessWDUN Staff
Republican Congressman Doug Collins of Gainesville took to Twitter to respond to U.S. military action that killed Iran's top general.

"Tonight’s attack on Qasem Soleimani—who is responsible for killing countless Americans—sends a strong message: Don’t mess with America," Collins posted following the U.S. airstrike near Baghdad's airport.

Collins, who represents Georgia's 9th congressional district, was not the only government official who used social media to react to the strike.

Former U.S. national security adviser John Bolton is congratulating all involved for "eliminating" Iran's top military commander. Bolton said in a Twitter post on Friday, that "long in the making, this was a decisive blow against Iran's malign Quds Force activities worldwide. Hope this is the first step to regime change in Tehran."

Iran's supreme leader has vowed "harsh retaliation" for the U.S. airstrike near Baghdad's airport that killed the head of Iran's elite Quds Force and the architect of Iran's interventions across the Middle East.
