Five people were injured in a head-on crash on U.S. 129 in Lumpkin County Friday night according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Sergeant Jody Caldwell said a Kia Sedona driven by 58 year old Robert Glenn of Blairsville crossed the center line and struck an oncoming Ford Fusion head on.

The driver of the Fusion, 28 year old Chelsea McCabe of Warne, North Carolina, and her passenger, 28 year old Alexandria Pressey of Brasstown, North Carolina, were both injured and taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Caldwell said Glenn and his passengers, 70 year old Julian Mason and 60 year old Charlotte Mason, both of Blairsville, were also injured and taken to NGMC in Gainesville for treatment.

Caldwell said Glenn has been charged with failure to maintain lane. He said drugs and alcohol are not suspected in the crash.

The wreck reportedly happened around 9:15 Friday night.
