The accused getaway driver in last October's shooting death of Gwinnett County Police Officer Antwan Toney has entered a guilty plea for his part in the crime.
The Gwinnett Daily Post reported Isaiah Pretlow, 19, pleaded guilty to driving the car that Toney had been called to investigate at Shiloh Middle School in Snellville on Oct. 20, 2018.
The shooter, Tafahree Maynard, was in the vehicle and opened fire on the officer as he approached. Maynard fled the scene on foot along with a juvenile female who was in the vehicle. Pretlow drove away from the scene in the car and crashed it. He ran after the crash, but he was caught.
Maynard was shot and killed by police in a manhunt in the days following the officer's death.
The newspaper reported Pretlow apologized to Toney's family, saying he did not know Maynard would open fire on the officer.
Pretlow entered his plea on Tuesday, and the newspaper said a number of Toney's fellow officers were in court at the time.
According to the newspaper, prosecutors actually resolved two cases against Pretlow - Officer Toney's case and an unrelated burglary case.
Pretlow will spend 20 years in confinement for concurrent sentences in the crimes.
