After spending more than six weeks on the run following a traffic stop in Barrow County, a North Georgia man has been arrested in Hoschton.
Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum on Tuesday confirmed last week's arrest of Samuel William Brock, 23.
Mangum said investigators received information that Brock was at a residence on Skelton Road. Deputies arrived at the scene and found Brock hiding under a bed at the house; he was armed with a knife. The woman who lived at the house, Ashley Robin Snay, 27, was arrested for harboring Brock. Snay is believed to be the mother of Brock's child.
In addition to facing charges from the Barrow County Sheriff's Office, Brock was charged with damaging a Jackson County patrol vehicle. Mangum said Brock kicked the car during the arrest on Thursday.
Brock initially fled from authorities on April 27 during a traffic stop near the Barrow County Airport. As deputies were checking Brock's status, he fled the scene, dragging a deputy down Picklesimon Road for a short distance. The deputy sustained minor injuries in the incident. A few days later, on April 30, Brock was spotted near Highway 124 and Skelton Road. Authorities locked down a school in the area at the time, but Brock managed to elude authorities that day. He remained on the run until his June 13 arrest.
