The annual Memorial Day parade lined Green Street with lawn chairs, people, pets and kids Monday morning in Gainesville.
The crowd arrived nearly two hours before the parade began as a way to guarantee a spot with a view for the event.
The parade funneled into the street from First Baptist Church and the Gainesville Civic Center and ended near the downtown square.
Veterans, businesses, public service workers and organizations helped honor those men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice while fighting for the country.
