A gas main leak closes a Lawrenceville road right before the evening rush hour Wednesday.
Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services spokesman Donald Strother said a hazmat team responded to the effected area of Collins Hill Road around 3:00p.m. He said a construction crew accidentally hit a 6-8 inch main, rupturing it.
Crews closed the road between Old Peachtree Road and Collins Glen Court while repairs were made. Strother said no residents were evacuated during the work.
The leak area sat between Rock Springs Park and several residential subdivisions.
At approximately 6:00p.m. Strother said the road was reopened.
