Storage building fire in Dawson Co. ruled arson

By AccessWDUN Staff

A fire that destroyed a storage building in Dawson County on Friday has been ruled a case of arson.

A fire investigator with the State Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner's Office made the determination after looking into evidence at the location on Carlisle Road.

"The building was located at 865 Carlisle Road in Dawsonville, Georgia," said Safety Fire Commissioner Jim Beck in a press statement. "The structure was around 47 years old and 400 square feet at the time of the fire."

Beck said the building was not connected to utilities at the time the fire occurred, which was around 12:45 p.m. Friday, April 26.

There were no reports of injuries.

Beck said a reward is on the table for information in the case that leads to an arrest and conviction of those responsible. The Arson Hotline number is 1‐800‐282‐5804.
