*The 4th Annual Team Maggie For A Cure Striper Tournament is April 13 on Lake Lanier.  It is a Catch & Release tournament benefitting women and men with grants up to $2,500 for fertility treatment prior to chemotherapy to enhance their chances of having children after recovery.   Click here to register.

*Dawson County paramedic Tim Cameron is the recipient of this year's Mary Beth Browns Excellence in Trauma Care Award.   The award is given to an individual or organization in the state for outstanding delivery of care to a critically injured patient(s).  According to a county news release, Cameron responded to several significant trauma-related calls during 2018, and all victims had "favorable outcomes." The annual award is given during Georgia Emergency Medical Services Day at the State Capital.

*Winder's Brad Davis caught five bass weighing 16 pounds, 5 ounces, to win last weekend's T-H Marine FLW Bass Fishing League Bulldog Division opener on Lake Lanier. Other northeast Georgians were among the top finishers.  Complete results can be found at FLWFishing.com.

*University of North Georgia professor of computer science and director of the Center for Cyber Operations Education, Dr. Bryson Payne, will be the speaker at the Rotary Club of Gainesville on Monday, March 4.   Dr. Payne’s presentation will be – Cyber Education and “Five Things” members can do to protect themselves from cyber threats at home and at work.
