So far, the biggest, and most unfortunate, highlight of the 2019 prep baseball season has been the near lack of one.
Rain has forced the cancellation and postponement of dozens of games. Schedules from all 23 of the northeast Georgia teams covered by AccessWDUN have been radically altered.
That being said, weather permitting on Friday, Region 8-2A will be the first of our seven area regions to open its all-important region schedule. Region 7-3A will begin region play on Monday while Region 8-3A opens next Friday (March 8).
All three Region 8-2A teams will open region play with key doubleheaders. Banks County entertains Union County while Rabun County will play host to Elbert County.
