HARTWELL — Chestatee took an early lead and then held on in the final innings for a 10-8 win over Hart County Thursday.
The War Eagles (4-0) got two hits and one RBI each from Will Cantrell and Robbie James while Nolan Turner had a big two-run double in an 8-hit attack. Atticus Tomcho and Clay Tyas had a hit and an RBI apiece while Phillip Lemay had a hit. Benson Miller and Nathan Bull each provided one RBI on the night.
Cantrell started and lasted just four innings allowing seven runs on seven hits and striking out six. Turner came in and went the final three innings allowing just one run on one hit to get the save
Luke Lee and Casey Tallent had two hits each for the Bulldogs.

The Bears again pounded out a big run-rule win against the Class 7A Mustangs in three innings.
Cherokee Bluff (3-0) has yet to give up a run on the season.
Parker Shope, Tyler Zawacki, and Clabe Hatcher each had two hits. Jackson Kemp had a triple and a RBI, while Tino Mukuno belted a solo home run to lead a 13-hit attack.
They wasted little time jumping on Meadowcreek (0-2) with two runs in the first. The Bears exploded for a 9-run second and added four more in the third to invoke the Mercy Rule.
Shope went three innings giving up just one hit while fanning five.
Cherokee Bluff will play host to Lakeview Academy on Monday in the first of a home-and-home series against the Lions.
