Sutton paces No. 22 women's basketball past GSW

DAHLONEGA - Julianne Sutton posted her fourth double-double of the season as the No. 22 University of North Georgia women's basketball team rolled past Georgia Southwestern 89-75 Saturday afternoon at the UNG Convocation Center.

Sutton's 25 points and 16 boards helped the Nighthawks get back on the winning track.

It was all North Georgia from the opening tip as Vanessa Agrusa notched an and-one just five seconds into the game to jump-start the high scoring output for the Nighthawks. The UNG lead got to as many as 23 midway through the fourth quarter before the 'Canes clawed back to get the game to 14 by the final horn.

NOTES
- Also scoring in double figures was Amber Skidgel and Abbie Franklin, scoring 13 and 12, respectively. Every Nighthawk that saw the floor got into the scoring column.

- Sutton shot 11-for-16 from the floor. She also tallied four blocks and three assists in the contest.

- UNG scored 56 of its 89 points from inside the paint.

NEXT UP
The Nighthawks hit the road for two straight, starting with a 5:30 p.m. matchup with Columbus State Wednesday night.
