Habersham E-9-1-1 Children's Fun Fest draws 10,000 people

CLARKESVILLE – Habersham County’s largest annual free event grew by some 3,000 people this year.

The Habersham E-9-1-1 Children’s Fun Fest, held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Habersham County Fairgrounds outside Clarkesville, drew more than 10,000 people to collect candy and safety materials, and to learn more about public safety and community organizations.

Each year, the pre-Halloween event grows and encompasses more of the fairgrounds, with vehicles and demonstrations located both inside and outside the facility’s pavilions.

“We would like to thank all of our public safety family, not only from here in Habersham but from all over the state of Georgia, for your effort and participation in the 13th-annual Habersham E-9-1-1 Children’s Fun Fest,” a social media acknowledgment reads. “This event is a true testimony of our great community.”
