*The next meeting of the White County Republican Party will be held Monday, January 21, at the Nix Student Center located on Truett McConnell University campus, beginning with a "meet and greet" at 6:00 and the program at 6:30.   Guest speaker will be state Rep. Terry Rogers.

*Hall County's administrative offices, courts, libraries, animal shelter, recycling center, and community centers will be closed Monday, Jan. 21, for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. However, compactor sites will remain open. Many county services are always available online: residents can renew a vehicle tag, find a new pet, pay taxes, and more at hallcounty.org.

*LifeSouth is conducting special blood drives Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who once said: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?”   Donors can find a LifeSouth blood donation center at Lifesouth.org. *Groundbreaking was held last week for Auto Metal Direct’s new Distribution and Fulfillment Center in the Gateway Industrial Centre located off of Georgia 365 north of Gainesville. Plans for the $15 million complex that will employ about 40 people were announced last month by Gov. Nathan Deal.
