*North Georgia Technical College recently announced Mechack Nduwa as the 2019 Exceptional Adult Georgia in Literacy Education winner.  Originally from Kinshasa, Congo, he has currently passed two of his GED classes and he plans to finish this spring and enroll at NGTC to study electrical technology. He will next compete at the regional level and if he wins there will go on to state EAGLE competition.

*Artwork by students from 11 Georgia high schools will be on display at the Piedmont College Mason-Scharfenstein Museum of Art January 8–17.  In addition, a reception for the artists will be held 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, January 17, and winners of Piedmont art scholarships will be announced.

*10th District Congressman Jody Hice will host Mobile Office Hours at the Auburn City Hall, Jan. 23, 10:30-12:30.  Representatives from his office will be on hand to answer questions and consult with constituents who have questions or comment about federal issues.

*Young Harris College junior Hannah Walker of Cumming was recently awarded the Beverly Barrow Woodward, ’53, Endowed Scholarship, established by Leonard and Beverly Woodward of Rome and granted annually to one YHC student to study abroad in England at Harlaxton College.
