Amazon looks to fill 1,200 jobs in Jackson County

More than a thousand new jobs are up for grabs in Jackson County as Amazon announces several upcoming hiring events.
 
The AJC reports the online retailer hopes to fill 1,200 part time positions at their new sortation center in Jefferson off of I-85. The new facility opened in August.
 
Hiring events start Monday, October 1st at the Jefferson Civic Center on Kissam Street and will operate every day through October 7th.
A detailed list of days and hours is below:

Oct. 1 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Oct. 3 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Oct. 5 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Oct. 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 You can apply online by clicking here and employees who work 20 to 29 hours a week will become eligible for benefits after 90 days.
