OAKWOOD — For Johnson football and four-year starting quarterback Sam Corbett, this one had been a long time coming.
The waiting for success only made Friday’s 38-0 defeat of Oglethorpe County all that much sweeter, however.
Corbett led the Knights offense with three touchdowns and 144 total yards in their first win since 2015 last week, busting a 24-game losing skid.
And now Johnson and Corbett hope it was only the start of a new streak, as a veteran Knights squad eyeballs a turnaround season.
For his efforts, Corbett has been named the Conditioned Air Services Athlete of the Week.
Friday Game Night and AccessWDUN sports editor Morgan Lee recently caught up with Corbett to talk about Friday’s success and what he believes is more to come.
