UPDATE: Search for missing man closes trails in Tallulah Gorge State Park

Tallulah Gorge State Park officials have announced that all trails inside the park will be closed today, Aug. 21, as searchers from across the region continue their efforts to locate a Toombs County man who was reported missing to Tallulah Falls Police Department on Thursday, Aug. 16.

William Albert Woodward, 36, of Lyons was believed to be in the company of Mitchell Morgan, who was located Saturday, Aug. 18, in the area of Tugalo Dam in Tallulah Falls, according to a statement from Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols.

“There are multiple agencies and personnel currently searching for Mr. Woodward,” Nichols’ statement reads.

Anyone with information about Woodward’s whereabouts is asked to contact Rabun County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 782-3612, or their local 9-1-1 dispatch center.
