(VIDEO) Branch sets scoring mark in rout of East Hall

RABBITTOWN — Eight different players scored touchdowns and Flowery Branch set a new single-game scoring record in a stunning 70-6 win over East Hall Friday night at East Hall Stadium.

Zarian Brawner scored twice on runs of 4 and 1 yard and Jaizen Ellingham had touchdown runs of 6- and 5-yards to pace the Falcons (1-0). PJ Stinger also had a touchdown run. Quarterback Elijah Gainey was an efficient 13 of 15 passing for 190 yards includng touchdown passes of 12 and 11 yards to DJ Brown and Grant Lackey. Backup quarterback Austin Hatcher tossed a 9-yard touchdown strike to Anthony Sablock

Jalin Strown, who led the Falcons with 4 receptions for 92 yards, scored his touchdown on a 47-yard punt return. Jason Tinker got a score when he closed out a 34-point first quarter for Flowery Branch with a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown. Jamal Larach booted a 36-yard field goal for the Falcons.

East Hall's only score came in the second quarter on a 96-yard kickoff return by Kylan Curry.

The Vikings (0-1) were held to just 68 total yards, minus-12 rushing, and had six turnovers on the night.

The 70 points for Flowery Branch broke the old mark of 69, also against East Hall, set in October of 2009.

The Falcons will take a week off before playing host to Clarke Central on Aug. 31.

East Hall travels to Union County in search of a rebound next week.
