Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 18 for former Winder Mayor Buddy Ouzts, who died this week at the age of 82.
Aaron Lamar (Buddy) Ouzts was a native of Winder. He graduated from Winder High School and attended Emory University and the University of Georgia.
The owner and dealer of Ouzts Chevrolet Company, Ouzts and UGA Athletic Director Joel Eaves started the car dealer program for coaches at the University of Georgia in 1964.
Ouzts was the mayor of Winder for 17 years from 1981 to 2007 and served on a number of community boards, according to his obituary.
A funeral service is scheduled 11 a.m. at Winder First United Methodist Church
