By AccessWDUN

SUWANEE — Buford dropped its season-opener 3-1 in five innings to Peachtree Ridge Wednesday in Rumble at the Ridge tournament.

The game was called in the fifth due to time limits.

The Lady Wolves (0-1) scored their only run in the first on a Peachtree Ridge error to take a quick 1-0 lead. But the Lady Lions answered with a run in the first and runs in each the third and fifth innings.

Junior Ansleigh Hollifield (0-1) took the loss for Buford allowing two runs on three in three innings of work. She fanned two and walked four. Sophomore Riley Reese pitched the final 1 2/3 innings yielding one run on two hits while striking out three.

Senior Hannah Morgan went 2-for-2 for Buford at the plate.

Buford will be back in action at the Rumble at the Ridge tournament on Thursday.
