MONROE, N.C. — Megan Sabol claimed her seventh straight top-10 finish as the University of North Georgia women's golf team finished in a tie for third at the Wingate Challenge Tuesday at Rolling Hills Country Club.

The Nighthawks tied with Young Harris for third place after UNG shot seven strokes better than the Mountain Lions in the tournament's final round. North Georgia shot a team score of 313 on Tuesday, the second-lowest score in the round behind team champion Lenoir-Rhyne's final round of 303. Wingate finished in second place, while Lincoln Memorial rounded out the top five.

Sabol's second round score of 73 gave her a 36-hole total of 150, one stroke out of a playoff for the individual championship. L-R's Ainee O'Connor won the tournament after winning a playoff for the top spot. The sophomore from Augusta, Georgia, has not finished outside of the top 10 since the first tournament of the year back in September in the UNCP Battle at Old South.

Anna Greer finished in the top-20 of the 59-person tournament, shooting a 157 for a tie for 18th, while Jordyn Sims finished in a tie for 22nd two strokes back.

The Nighthawks have one regular season tournament left as they will take the course next Monday, March 26, at West Georgia's Spring Invitational at Sunset Hills Country Club in Carrollton, Georgia.
