Fox News Commentator Todd Starnes will host a Faith and Freedom Celebration featuring Lt. Col. Oliver L. North (retired) on the Truett McConnell University campus April 20.
North, a central figure in the Iran-Contra scandal while Ronald Reagan was in the White House, is a decorated combat veteran who served 22 years in the Marine Corps. In 1981, Reagan appointed him deputy-director of the National Security Council.
North now serves as a political commentator and television host, military historian, and New York Times best-selling author.
Starnes will emcee the event.
All proceeds will go to the Empower the Call campaign, according to a TMU press release, which provides assistance for student mission trips, creates retention scholarships, and reduces missionary student debt, allowing TMU alumni currently on the mission field to remain and continue sharing the gospel message.
Ticket options include bleacher seating for $25 or table seating with dinner for $250. Dinner tables of eight are also available for $2,000, which includes a reception with North and Starnes.
In addition to the program, all participants will have the opportunity to view a replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier inside the Student Wellness Center.
