After winning the first Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship in program history, the No. 24 University of North Georgia women's basketball team has claimed the No. 3 seed in the Southeast Regional and will travel to Carson-Newman to compete for the regional title as announced by the NCAA Sunday night. The Eagles claimed the top seed in the region after winning the South Atlantic Conference Sunday.

The Nighthawks are one of three PBC teams to make the tournament with Lander earning the No. 4 seed and Columbus State getting the No. 7 seed in the tournament.

North Georgia has been matched up with sixth-seeded Barton in the opening round in a rematch of a game played back on November 18 in the UNG Nighthawk Classic. The Nighthawks won that matchup, 75-49, led by Amber Skidgel's 19 points in the game.

Wingate is the No. 2 seed after falling to Carson-Newman in the SAC championship game Sunday afternoon, while Limestone grabbed the sixth seed and Anderson was named the eighth seed.

Game times have not been set, but the regional's opening round games will be played on Friday, the semifinals Saturday and the regional final will be played on Monday. All games will be played at Carson-Newman's Holt Fieldhouse. The winners of the eight regionals will meet in the Elite Eight, held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, starting on March 19.
