SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. — North Hall finished second at the Smoky Mountain Duals capping off the two-day event with a 7-1 record.
The Trojans only loss came to the eventual champion team from Cleveland, Tenn., by a score of 70-9. In that match North Hall wrestled its JV lineup to rest the starters for a showdown with fellow Class 3A and perineal powerhouse Jefferson.
North Hall and Jefferson were locked in a close dual at midway points before the Trojans pulled away for a decisive 42-20 victory over the Dragons.
The tournament featured 25 teams from Tennessee, Georgia, Flaorida, Kentucky, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia.
After going 4-0 Friday, North Hall entered the gold pool bracket with the other four individual pool champion teams. The Trojans began the day with a 42-31 victory over Woodward Academy then took a 57-20 win over North Forsyth before the final two matches, including the win over Jefferson.
