Turnovers doom Falcons' playoff hopes in loss at Ridgeland

ROSSVILLE — Flowery Branch football watched its state playoff hopes derailed by seven turnovers in a 34-14 loss at Ridgeland on Friday in Rossville.

The Falcons (8-3) trailed just 10-7 with 2:05 remaining in the third quarter only to watch the Panthers pull away with 21 straight points.

By the time CJ Goodwin hauled in a 5-yard touchdown reception, the Branch trailed 31-14 wit just 5:47 remaining.

Ridgeland picked off four Falcons passes and recovered three Branch fumbles.

Still hampered by injuries, Flowery Branch managed just 57 yards rushing. Ridgeland put up 192 yards on the ground, finishing with 346 total yards. The Falcons finished with 216 total yards.

Flowery Branch's season is now complete.
