Buford runs past Miller Grove, 35-13

BUFORD — Buford football ran its way into the second round of the Class 5A postseason on Friday.

Derrian Brown, Elijah Turner and Jamaal Singleton each racked up rushing touchdowns to help the Wolves to a 35-13 defeat of Miller Grove in the first round of the playoffs at Tom Riden Stadium.

Brown scored on runs of 11 and 9 yards to help Buford pounce on a 14-0 advantage, while Turner added a 6-yard touchdown scamper on the final play of the first quarter for a 21-0 lead.

The Wolves (9-2) could not add to their advantage until the third quarter, though Singleton ensured the game was well out of reach courtesy a 23- and a 6-yard touchdown run for a 35-0 advantage late in the period.

Miller Grove scored 13 points in the fourth quarter.

Buford will play host to Kell next week in the second round of the postseason.
