A law enforcement detective who lives in Cleveland and works for the Duluth Police Department has been recognized by the International Association of Financial Crime Investigators with its top award.
Fran Foster recently was named Member of the Year for IAFCI.
Foster began her career in law enforcement in 1992 as a K9 Handler in Hart County. In the mid-90s she worked with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Foster has also worked as a drug agent in an undercover capacity with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. For the last 15 years, Foster has worked with the Duluth Police Department specializing in state and federal financial crimes cases.
Notable cases include the Charles Petty and Donald Bastiste case featured on ABC News' Nightline, the Justin Walker case featured on Fox ITeam, an international Nigerian fraud case featured on KMOV in Missouri and WSB Atlanta, the Annett Ford tax fraud Case on ABC National News, and her most recent interview on MSNBC for her corporate embezzlement investigative experience.
Foster also received and award from the Department of Justice in 2002. In addition, she is the recipient of the Duluth Police Departmental Meritorious Service Award from 2011 through 2017 and the Coupon Information Center Investigation Award 2018 in Washington D.C. for the resolution of a $1 million coupon fraud case.
Foster is married to Chief John Foster of the Cleveland Police Department and they reside in White County.
