Gainesville church, trucking company join forces to ferry supplies to 'Michael' victims

By AccessWDUN Staff

First United Methodist Church of Gainesville and Syfan Logistics are joining to forces to collect supplies for victims of Hurricane Michael.  The storm made landfall last week as the most powerful storm to strike the Florida Panhandle in years.

The death and destruction extended well into Georgia.

A message from the church says the two entities are seeking help from the local community in doing "our part in assisting Florida and South Georgia in the clean-up effort by providing cleaning buckets."

Syfan Logistics is providing a truck in the parking lot of the church on Thompson Bridge Road to collect assembled buckets. The buckets will be collected through October 29 and will be delivered to the United Methodist Committee on Relief Warehouse to be distributed to homeowners in Florida and South Georgia.
