Riverside rolls to third straight win, sets-up subregion showdown

GAINESVILLE — Riverside Military football continued its resurgence on Friday, claiming its third straight win courtesy a 40-0 defeat of Lakeview Academy in Gainesville.

The Eagles (4-3, 2-0 Region 8-AN) already have their highest win total since 2013, and Riverside will now look to next week's showdown with Hebron Christian knowing that one more win would set the Eagles up for a subregion championship game at Commerce on Oct. 26.

Riverside took some time to get its offense going on Friday, starting with a 33-yard Michael Madichie field goal in the second quarter. But once the Eagles warmed up it was all Riverside after the interval.

Isaac Teasley made it 9-0 just before halftime on a 3-yard touchdown run (the point after attempt was blocked). The quarterback added a 32-yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter and finished the game with 135 yards rushing and two scores, as well as 68 yards passing.

Madichie also booted a 42-yard field goal, as well as scooping up a fumble and returning it 6 yards for a score in the second half.

Shad Dabney also had a 36-yard interception return for a score -- one of two picks on the night for Dabney. And Stephen Aleandre rounded out the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown run.

Harry Kim also racked up 10 tackles for the Eagles, who next play host to Hebron Christian.

The Lions (0-7, 0-3), meanwhile, travel to Prince Avenue Christian next week.
