More big region contests can be heard on Jacobs Media airwaves

By Jeff Hart Sports Reporter

With just a month left in the season, critical region contests on Friday in all but one northeast Georgia area region could go a long way to not only where teams finish but who makes the playoffs.

And the the Jacobs Media family of stations will have three big showdowns on its airwaves.

The most intriguing matchup of the night, and one of the biggest games in the state, will take place in Flowery Branch. The No. 5 Falcons play host to No. 1 Blessed Trinity in a huge Region 7-4A battle that will play out on WDUN AM 550. Both teams are unbeaten on the season and in region play and the winner will keep pace with Marist atop Region 7-4A.

Over on 94.5 FM The Lake, North Hall will play host to Fannin County in a big Region 7-3A showdown. The Trojans are trying to rebound from their loss two weeks ago to Greater Atlanta Christian while the surprising Rebels are undefeated in region play and in second place. The winner will stay in contention for a top two spot.

On WDUN FM 102.9, White County heads to West Hall in another Region 7-4A matchup as both teams are trying to stay in the playoff hunt. The Spartans are in fourth place holding the tiebreaker over Denmark while the Warriors are still looking for their first region win of the season.
