DAHLONEGA — After finishing in a tie for first in the Peach Belt Conference's West Division last season, University of North Georgia head coach Chris Faulkner has announced the men's basketball schedule for 2017-18. The Nighthawks are looking to continue building upon their 15-14 record from a year ago.
After an opening weekend at Georgia College in the Georgia College Tip-Off Classic, North Georgia will open up the home schedule in Memorial Hall with a November 15 contest against Belmont Abbey and a November 21 matchup with Limestone.
The Nighthawks will then travel west to Denver to compete in the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Cherry Creek Classic hosted by Metro State. UNG will take on Regis on November 24 before battling with Metro State on November 25.
A week later, the Nighthawks open the Peach Belt schedule at home against Francis Marion on December 2 before traveling to Starkville, Mississippi, to play in an exhibition game against SEC foe Mississippi State.
After 2017 comes to a close, UNG will play nine PBC games in Dahlonega, the final three of which will be Alumni Weekend, Spirit Night and Homecoming, respectively.
