OAKWOOD — Quentin Smith ran for one score and threw for another to lead West Hall to a 20-0 win over Washington-Wilkes Friday night at Spartans Field.
The Spartans (2-1) were locked in a defensive battle into the second quarter when quarterback Michael Thompson scampered into the end zone for a 9-yard touchdown run to give West Hall a lead it would not relinquish.
Smith made it 13-0 late in the third quarter with a 1-yard run and then connected with Cameron Shirley on a 23-yard halfback pass for a touchdown midway through the fourth to seal the win.
The West Hall defense held the Tigers (1-1) to just 122 yards rushing and 161 total yards for the game.
Thompson paced the Spartans with 54 yards rushing and 6 yards passing.
