By AccessWDUN Staff

BLUE RIDGE — Fannin County it still knows how to roll up points and yardage on Friday night.

The Rebels hammered rival Gilmer 42-0 in Blue Ridge, putting up the type of offensive numbers fans grew accustomed to when record-breaking quarterback Brad Davis was taking snaps.

With Davis graduated a new group of Fannin stars began to emerge on Friday, including Cody Jacobs, who ran wild, including three touchdowns, while going for well over 100 yards. New quarterback Tyler Norton also connected on four touchdown passes, including two to Luke Cowart and one to Dawson King.

Meanwhile, a defense that gave up points in bunches last season also impressed in pitching the shutout.

The Rebels (1-0) will take a week off before traveling to face Ringgold on Sept. 1.
