Truett McConnell University in Cleveland unveiled its new student wellness center to the public Saturday in a grand opening ceremony.
The recently completed George Blaurock Student Wellness Center is named for an Anabaptist forefather, according to Truett McConnell University Vice President of Student Services Chris Eppling.
"Back in the reformation era, these guys were what's called the radical reformationists." Eppling said on WDUN's Morning News with Bill and Joel on Friday.
Blaurock was a leading personality, theologian and pastor at the time.
"Just the fact that he gave his life for the Gospel of Christ helps give us an idea of what the mission of Truett McConnell is, and helps to remind us, even during our fun times with our students, what we're all about," Eppling said.

The roughly 75,000 square foot facility features an arena for the TMU Bears NAIA basketball teams, but it's much more according to Eppling.
"We've got a 5,000 square foot fitness floor. We've got an aquatic center. We've got racquetball courts. We've got multi-purpose group fitness rooms, training facilities. We have lounges. We have office space," Eppling said.
The building also features the Georgia Public House restaurant.
Eppling said the university will start selling public memberships to the facility in January. Until then, officials want to track usage with students, the center's primary members.
Those students arrived on campus last week.
"What we've tried to do, and I think what our students have seen and are appreciating, is the fact that we've laid out a building, a facility for them to be able to come in and have fun, stay healthy and to enjoy each others' company," Eppling said.
