Drug agents arrest 7 people in White County operation

The White County Sheriff’s Office, the Cleveland Police Department and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) aggressively targeted suspected narcotics dealers in White County this past week and made seven drug-related arrests as the result of the effort. 

With assistance from the White County Sheriff's Office, ARDEO Agents arrested Courtney Nelson, 21, James Molton, 23, Harvey Leahey, 17, Quinton Blackwell, 19, and Susan Sorrows, 41 for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. The Cleveland Police Department arrested Barbara Barr, 27, and Johnnie Hickman, 38, also for possession of methamphetamine.

The combined street value of the drugs seized was estimated at over $600 worth of methamphetamine and $600 worth of marijuana.  All suspects were transported to the White County Detention Center.  

The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office is a multi-agency unit that consists of the following Sheriff’s Offices: White County, Lumpkin County, Towns County, Banks County, Habersham County, Stephens County, Rabun County Franklin County the Cleveland Police Department, and the Lavonia Police Department, along with the Georgia National ,Guard Counter Drug Task Force, the Department of Public Safety, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
